This project uses abstract animation to explore time, connection, and consciousness. Through organic shapes and blended media, it reflects on human bonds and invites viewers to consider shared experiences and deeper ideas.
This project explores the themes of time, connection, and the origin of consciousness through a time-based narrative animation. Inspired by the concept of human connections originating from the universe's creation, I focused on presenting abstract visuals that evoke a sense of timelessness and introspection. Originally, the concept began with defined characters, but I decided to move away from fixed forms. Instead, I opted for inorganic shapes and a four-dimensional representation of the universe to depict the emergence of consciousness and human interconnectivity. This shift allowed greater flexibility in visual storytelling, breaking free from the constraints of traditional character design. The animation aims to combine poetic visuals with universal themes. Each element—light, texture, and movement—serves as a metaphor for the flow of time and the fragile, yet profound, connections between individuals. By blending traditional hand-drawn illustrations, photography, and digital animation, the project creates a space where abstract visuals communicate the shared human experience. Furthermore, this work explores not just individual growth but the collective memory shared by humanity. The animation acts as a mirror for the audience, allowing them to reflect on their personal experiences and connections while engaging with broader philosophical themes.
Unbound
Unbound is a hand-drawn animated short exploring the silent journey of a woman breaking free from emotional confinement. Through delicate pencil textures, poetic narration, and classical music, the film reflects themes of repression, memory, and inner rebirth. Each illustrated page unfolds like a diary of transformation—mirrors, letters, rivers, and forests become symbols of release and healing. Rather than telling a linear story, Unbound invites viewers into a meditative experience of letting go, where stillness becomes strength. It is a visual poem dedicated to every soul learning to love themselves again.
Blike Milk Tea — From Sri Lanka to Taiwan
Blike Milk Tea is a narrative animation created to capture the brand’s essence — an authentic journey of tea from the highlands of Sri Lanka to the heart of Taiwan.
Through hand-drawn textures and warm gradient tones, the animation visualizes the fragrance, movement, and craftsmanship behind each cup.
The black-and-white rough animation represents the early sketch phase, while the side storyboard shows how the pacing and transitions were developed.
By blending natural tones of brown and amber with a subtle handmade aesthetic, Blike tells a story of connection — from the growers to the makers, and finally to every sip shared across cultures.
